BIO:
Have you ever been
on the highway and wondered, "How can all these people afford
such nice cars? How can there be so much money out there and so
little in my pockets? I went to college, I'm responsible, I work
hard. Am I somehow less deserving or am I just cursed? Well,
that starving-to-death-in-the-middle-of-the-grocery-store
mentality accurately describes what many singles experience
every time they step into a public setting where romance
seemingly abounds for everyone but them.
Greetings, my name is Jack G. Wood, author of recently
published, "Just Call Me Mrs. C, An Essential and Uplifting
Companion for Today's Single-but-Prayerful Christian." While
revisiting my own misadventures in relationship realms both
secular and Christian, I hinge single contentment upon a
willingness to surrender romantic aspirations to the Lord via a
humorous and equally hard-hitting presentation with
scripture-based solutions for spiritually counterproductive
attitudes.
My message can be altered to fit any schedule and is appropriate
for groups of any size in settings retreat-like or formal. The
presentation format can be easily altered to accommodate
couples. Also, as an artist, I have an entirely separate message
in which I sing, play, draw, throw pots, and speak about God's
creativity.
For nearly two decades I've taught and coached just about every
grade, subject, and sport across the state of Washington and as
far north as the Arctic Circle in Alaska. I am a graduate of
Whitworth College of Spokane, Washington with degrees in both
elementary education and art, and a graduate of Lesley
University of Cambridge, Massachusetts with a Masters degree in
Creative Arts in Learning. I currently teach high school art in
Deer Park, Washington. My beautiful wife, Wendy, our little boy,
Mac, and baby-on-the-way live on 20 scenic mountain acres where
we absorb the beauty and expanse of God's creation on a daily
basis. I'm worship leader at our local community church. I sing;
play guitar and harmonica, and Wendy is also on the worship
team. She sings; plays base and cello.
