JEFFREY SHICKS'
TESTIMONY
An experienced and humorous speaker/youth minister
for the past 20+ years, Jeffrey Shicks has spoken to thousands
of teenagers across the globe. He served as a police officer and
juvenile probation officer for nearly ten years, which caused
him to see first hand, the effects that peer pressure and poor
choices have had on the lives of teenagers.
He has started several programs in public schools geared at
helping youth to engage in positive choices and relationships,
and currently serves as director of an inner-city youth center
called “The Bridge” – a ministry of First Christian Church which
reaches out to hundreds of teens each week.
He currently serves on the youth staff of First Christian Church
in Fort Myers, Florida as the director of “The Bridge” youth
center. He also serves as a board member on a local youth pastor
network, “Union Station” that strives to equip local youth
pastors and leaders in the S.W. Florida area. And is a national
speaker on youth cultural issues called “Reality Check” youth
talks.
Jeffrey has spoken for several large conventions including; Teen
Mania, SYATP rallies, North American Christian Convention (NACC),
public school assemblies and many more. Jeffrey is committed
first of all to Christ, his family, educating teenagers,
parents, and investing in the lives of youth with today’s
pressures and choices and giving them positive alternatives.
Jeffrey married his high school sweet heart in June 1983. They
have a daughter Melissa, age 20 and a son Josh, age 18. They
live in Cape Coral, Florida.
