BIO:
Pastor Karen Jethroe is a vibrant, anointed “preacher” who
delivers with excellence the Word of God. Born again at the age
of sixteen, she has progressively grown in her relationship with
the Holy Spirit and passionately speaks of Him as her personal
companion, advisor, and helper.
Although Pastor Karen, as she is affectionately called, has been
joyously entwined in church-life for more than thirty years, her
gifts and abilities extend beyond the walls of the church. She
walks out the gospel that she preaches in many venues. In 1993
she became Director of Inner Circle Ministries, an outreach
ministry administering to the needs of single moms and abused
women.
In 1996 she began ministering in the prisons. While ministering
in the prisons one of the things that Pastor Karen noticed was
that many of the inmates had no welcoming church to attend once
they left prison. So in 2000 the Holy Spirit began dealing with
Pastor Karen about starting a church. Not wanting to deal with
the pressures of being a woman pastor, small congregations, and
the overall responsibility of being a shepherd, Pastor Karen
resisted. However, when the Holy Spirit began to withdraw
Himself from her, she immediately yielded to the call. In
January of 2002 Inner Circle Ministries Outreach and Deliverance
Church was founded.
In her personal life, Pastor Karen is very family oriented. She
has been married to her husband Dennis for more than thirty
years. They have four adult children. However, her most prize
possessions are her five grandchildren. Granny, as she is so
lovingly called, is the sweetest sound to her ears.
Pastor Karen recently earned a bachelor’s degree in
Organizational Leadership from Greenville College, in
Greenville, IL. She has received the Volunteer of the Year Award
in 2000 from the Illinois Department of Corrections signed by
the Governor of the State of Illinois. She is also an aspiring
songwriter and author. |
