BIO:
Jami Holman knows
all too well what it means to feel abandoned by God. Jami grew
up being sexually and physically abused. She learned early in
life that trust was something you didn't give to anyone,
especially a man. God however, had a different plan for Jami's
life.
While modeling she
was partnered with a very handsome young man named Brian.
Modeling was a new experience for Brian; after all he was a
professional baseball player not a model. Although neither one
of them knew it, God had a plan that put the two of them
together. Exactly one year, one week, and one day after they met
Jami and Brian were married. They are now the proud parents of
four children.
Jami shares
stories about life in the minor leagues and the big leagues, and
the struggle of being in the "lime light". She tells about
learning how to trust not only her husband but also the God who
allowed her suffering. She speaks about how God changed her from
a woman who wanted the best for her family to a woman who wants
the best for God.
Jami also shares
about the prayer that literally changed her life. Little did she
know that her deeply moving prayer for character would bring
about a "faithquake" that would leave her broken, humble, and
clinging to the God who is able. In a matter of months Jami's
family experienced troubles of Job like proportions. She tells
of a near death accident and a brain tumor in her son, cancer
and a relapse for a daughter, open heart surgery in her husband,
drug abuse and rebellion in an older son. "Should I accept good
from God and not evil" took on a whole new meaning to Jami.
Everything about her faith was put to the test and everything
about her faith was changed. She jokes about how she tried to
change her prayer to "please Lord just leave me shallow."
As she speaks you
will go to the edge with her and in the end learn how God pushed
her off so she would learn to fly. She urges each one of us not
to be afraid of the fall, but to trust in the wings of a mighty
and awesome God who will cover us with His feathers and give us
refuge under His wings. |
