BIO:
LaDonna was born
and raised in Southern California. Though living in a
non-Christian household she accepted Christ at the age of 8
because of a little girl named Beverly Caldwell. This sweet
little girl invited LaDonna to Sunday school and from that point
on the “little church” down the street became a second home to
LaDonna. God had a plan for this little 8 year old.
She attended Biola University where she received her Bachelor of
Arts in Christian Education with a minor in Bible. During her
time as a student, God continually opened the door for her to
serve full time in various churches in the Southern California
area. She served as Children’s Director in small churches of 100
children to very large churches that had 1000 children.
Though her emphasis was in Children’s Ministries, women were
always dear to her heart as she served alongside women, young
and “seasoned”. Meeting with women to prepare and plan the
activities for the children was always a means to ministering to
the soul of women as well.
It was in her late 20’s that God began working on her heart that
had been deeply wounded as a small child. God knew that in order
to raise her up to serve Him, especially with women, that she
would need to first work on herself. Through many years of
counseling with a wonderful Pastor, much reflection and support
from other women, LaDonna began to realize that healing was
taking place. She was beginning to experience the freedom you
receive when you acknowledge the hurtful things of the past,
accept them for what they are and lay them to rest. Denial is
not an option for those who want to be truly free in Christ.
Today, LaDonna is a vibrant women who ministers to women at her
local church through serving on the Women’s Ministries Team,
teaching various Bible Studies year round, counseling women,
heading up the annual women’s retreat and of course helping in
Children’s Ministries wherever needed (she believes no one
retires from teaching the little ones).
She is passionate about “Mark of Grace Ministries” because many
women need to hear that the abundant and peaceful life that
Christ talks about is possible. Through the years, LaDonna has
messed up many times, made wrong decisions, and failed at many
things but through it all she never forgot that Jesus had put a
mark on her at the tender age of 8. No matter how messy things
got, she was always a child of God, no one could take away her
inheritance, her place as one of God’s children. Her mark was
permanent and God was and is always there to take care of her.
To her amazement God led her to a wonderful man 9 years ago. She
and her husband Gordon reside in LaPorte Indiana. Gordon is
Pastor of Ministries at Countryside Christian Church. They have
a wonderful little girl, who is 8 years old (going on 15) who
has just completed the 2nd grade. Gabby is appropriately named,
as she daily accomplishes the 25,000 word rule that females
have, with no problem.
