BIO:
Do you know
someone who has an attitude malfunction? Most of us know more
than one person…and sometimes, we are that person! Cherie
Guilford is a trainer and speaker on Attitudes. Her enthusiastic
presentations engage the audience and challenge them to look
beyond the ordinary and learn to expect the EXTRAordinary –
learning to expect the EXTRAordinary begins and ends with…that’s
right – ATTITUDE! Whether you are a leader, a follower or an
observer, attitude drives your every decision.
One of Cherie’s favorite quotes comes from Mark Twain, who said,
“Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.” Couple
that with a vivid childhood memory of a Grandmother who’s
response to, “I can’t,” was always, “Can’t never did do nothin’,
but try did a lot,” and what you get is a malfunction mechanic.
Cherie knew that attitude was “her thing” the day her husband
told her she could find something good about stepping in a cow
pie.
In 2004, Cherie was put to the ultimate test when she was
diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Determined to “practice
what she preached,” she took control of the only thing she could
control, her attitude! With the best prayer support and medical
care a person can have this side of heaven, Cherie’s cancer is
in remission and, God willing, she intends to keep it that way!
Cherie is the founder and President of CMR Services Group, Inc.,
a company specializing in leadership training and organizational
development. Cherie started the business in 1997 for the purpose
of helping people reach their full potential, personally and
professionally.
She has over 15 years of experience in attitude development,
leadership, life/work balance, consensus and team building, and
conflict resolution. Her experience includes everything from
speaking to small groups of four participants, to extensive
presentations on behalf of government agencies, to groups of
hundreds.
Cherie has taken CMR’s professional training and development and
added a new twist – the element of faith. This new series,
entitled The Jesus Principles™, maintains the high quality of
professional material CMR is known for, while at the same time
incorporating scripture references to demonstrate the importance
of conducting business according to God’s Word.
She is a featured author in Conversations on Faith. She has also
hosted, “The Jesus Principles™,” a weekly radio ministry in
Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to her speaking and training
engagements, Cherie is active in her church and community, and
serves as adjunct faculty for the University of Phoenix Online.
In her spare time, Cherie loves to read, sew, crochet, hike,
golf and spend time with her husband, Harvey, and their “son,” a
toy poodle named Pretty Boy (and No – the Guilford’s did not
name him! J).
