TESTIMONY:
I was raised in a two-bedroom house with an outside restroom and
a well water hand pumped outside in a little town called
Hitchcock, Texas.
With three brothers, one a twin to me, and two sisters. My
father left my Mother to raise six kids with no education. So
she began to clean homes to care for us. At a young age I began
drinking and was married at the age of eighteen. After we lost
our first child, I began using drugs. We had two wonderful girls
but drugs had control of my life. I could not hold a job or
think right. Alcohol and drugs were destroying my life. My wife
left me and took the girls and divorced me. I began living on
the streets of Houston, Texas. My life was like a
merry-go-round. From Galveston to Hitchcock to Houston back and
forth.
Not knowing where my life was going, I was running from the law
for stealing a car, lying to everyone I knew. Crack and alcohol
controlled my life.
I was sent to prison for two years. After coming out, drugs were
still in control of my life. I wanted to be free!! But I didn't
know how to become free of my addiction. I went to three
treatment centers in two years and remained addiction to drugs.
In Austin, Texas I continued to use drugs until drugs sent me to
my knees. I robbed a motel and began to run back to Galveston,
Texas. I ended up in San Antonio where my life took a turn for
the better.
I went into a program called Victory Outreach of Texas. There my
life became meaningful. I began to see things differently. Jesus
Christ came into my life on December 3rd, 1990. I began to tell
people what Jesus had done in my life. Through his word I was
set free from alcohol, drugs and myself.
My words have meaning now and people began to listen. I started
preaching the gospel to many people in many cities for Jesus.
Jesus performed many miracles in my life since December 3rd,
1990. Jesus has given me a new life, new wife, new home, new car
(not stolen), and many children (Spiritual Children).
