Delores Burgess is often described.
A Stellar Psalmist. Dynamic Speaker. Visionary Businesswoman.
Appointed Vessel. Examine any of these phrases individually and
they speak volumes of passion, promise, and purpose. Put them
together and they describe the life of a woman filled with
compassion, driven to succeed – in work and life, propelled by
the commission of God to touch many lives through her spiritual
gifts of singing, speaking, teaching, inspiring and motivating.
The 2002 Atlanta Gospel Choice Award Winner for “Best New
Artist” crystallized her purpose in music, ministry, and in life
with her compelling debut CD release entitled, “Faith All Over
It”. Since then Delores Burgess has carved her mark in the
gospel music industry sharing the stage with some of gospel
music’s greats such as Vickie Winans, the Christianaires, Dottie
Peoples, Mighty Clouds of Joy, James Bignon and Babbie Mason to
name a few. She has appeared on numerous television shows
including TBN’s internationally viewed “Say Yes” hosted by Candi
Staton. Her music has been played by gospel announcers across
the country, and sold in the U.S., London, and Japan. As
President of Delores Burgess Music Ministries (DBMM), she hosts
an inspirational radio program, manages its Health Education and
Outreach ministries and serves as mentor to aspiring gospel
artists. Among her numerous honors are the 2004 Distinguished
Servant/Leader Award, the 2004 Woman of Distinction Award, and
the 2003 Young Business Entrepreneur Award, all presented for
her outstanding personal and professional achievement in
community leadership and service.

Delores Burgess speaks life and inspiration to audiences at
church services, women’s conferences, corporate and community
events, university affairs, and workshops. She has emerged as a
powerhouse impact speaker taking personal aim at the issues of
breast cancer. A breast cancer survivor and advocate, she shares
her own personal experience with a peerless unique approach. She
entertains with hilarious truths about her diagnosis, treatment,
and recovery, while standing firm in the charge to empower
others and bring awareness to the impact breast cancer has in
the African American community. She has delivered at national
and local events for the American Cancer Society (ACS), Blue
Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, Spellman College, The Oncology
Nursing Society, AT& T, The National Black Leadership Initiative
on Cancer II - Morehouse School of Medicine, the MD Anderson
Cancer Center in Orlando, and many breast cancer survivor
celebration events. Delores is often summoned by the ACS
Speakers Bureau to fulfill a variety of requests inclusive of
radio and TV interviews. She has been heard and seen on major
market stations as Radio One’s Praise 97.5 FM, The Fish 104.7
FM, WSB-TV2, and FOX5-WAGA respectively. She is a LIVESTRONG
community grant reviewer for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and
an active spokesperson for the National Institute of
Environmental Health Science’ national breast cancer research
project, The Sister Study.
