BIO:
A month before her
sixth birthday, Shelly lost her mom as a result of a yearlong
battle of complications from a tragic car accident. Her mom’s
struggle after the accident brought much pain and difficulty for
Shelly, her four sisters and brother. In addition to being
thrust into a life of poverty, she lost her youngest sister, had
little to no adult care or supervision, was shuffled into
several foster homes while suffering abuse at the hands of these
care-takers.
During Shelly’s
powerful testimony, she uses humor and poignant details as she
shares many of her life experiences, from the loss of her mom to
the abandonment of her natural father… from months of abuse by
her foster father, to the abuse and rejection by the one who
chose her (her adoptive mother).
As a very
unlovely, angry teenager, she shares how two godly women obeyed
the Lord and chose to love her unconditionally and invest in her
life, ultimately making the difference in her life to choose the
path of righteousness.
With excitement
and victory Shelly demonstrates the reality of Romans 8:28,
revealing God’s sovereignty and protection on her life. Shelly
struggled through healing from her past during much of her adult
life.
During the
powerful closing of her testimony Shelly shares how believing in
God’s sovereignty, accepting who she is in Christ, understanding
the power of trusting in the Lord, and accepting His boundless
love for her brought her to a place of healing and victory.
Shelly Brown’s
testimony and message is geared toward women of all ages and in
all walks of life. Believing that God has a purpose for every
woman, she offers practical biblical insight and tools that
every woman needs to have a victorious walk with the Lord, while
exploring some life-directing questions, such as, “What is my
purpose in life?” “Does God really love me?” “What does the
Bible really mean by “All things work together for good.”...and
more.
At 35, Shelly has
been married twelve years to business owner, Carl Brown. They
have three children, Jordan 10, Jake 8, and Delaney 7. Along
with her husband and children, Shelly has served faithfully at
Orlando Baptist Church for 22 years. |
